The concept of success is relative. What may
be successful to you may not be the same to some. Perhaps the most important aspect
of the term is the measure we have for it in our own lives. Often, we tend to
think that we will be successful when… While it is good to set goals for such,
a certain life coach taught me to look at this differently. Instead of waiting
for that moment, why not take stock of what you are successful in your life right
NOW. When you look closer, you will discover that you are successful more than
you ever thought you were.
The following poem attributed to Ralph Waldo
Emerson just about sums it up:
“Success”
To
laugh often and much;
To
win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
To
earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false
friends;
To
appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To
leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a
redeemed social condition;
To
know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This
is to have succeeded.
